Braden's Birthday

On May 30th this handsome husband of mine turned 24.  He only had a few birthday requests this year.
1. Horchata
2. Caramel Chocolate Molten Lava Cake
and 3. Mario Kart 8

The night before I made the horchata because it had to sit in the refrigerator.  For those of you who are interested here is the recipe.

2 c. evaporated milk
8 c. water
4 cinnamon sticks
1/4 c. rice flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 Tbs. vanilla extract

1. In a large saucepan add milk, water, and cinnamon.  Bring to boil.
2. Reduce to simmer, cook 5 min.  Remove from heat, let stand for 15 min.
3. Combine rice flour, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl.  Pour in milk mixture, whisk to incorporate well.
4. Refrigerate at least 4 hours (we did it over night).
5. Pour into pitcher, discarding sediment (can strain through cheese cloth) Remove cinnamon sticks.
6. Serve cold over ice.

On his birthday we both had to work.  When we both got home we played a lot of Mario Kart 8.  When we got hungry we went out and got some pizza (It's our favorite food ever, it's kind of an addiction. Don't judge).  Then I came home and made him his requested birthday cake :)

I got this recipe on Pinterest and you can find the recipe here.

We then enjoyed the rest of the night playing some more Mario Kart 8 and opening presents :)

Enjoy the recipes!
